Court Admits Videos as Evidence in Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Thursday, 22 May 2025, admitted several video recordings as evidence in the ongoing trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The videos, presented to Justice James Omotosho by the prosecution through the Department of State Services (DSS), allegedly feature Kanu making inciting statements that support violence and the secession of Biafra from Nigeria.

Despite objections from Kanu’s defense team—who argued that the videos were illegally obtained and lacked proper authentication—the court ruled them admissible. This development marks a significant turn in Kanu’s trial, where he faces serious charges including terrorism, treasonable felony, and unlawful possession of firearms.

The trial continues, with further evidence expected and possible appeals from Kanu’s legal team.
