Joe Biden Diagnosed With Aggressive Prostate Cancer

Former U.S. President Joe Biden, aged 82,has been diagnosed with an aggressive and advanced form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones.

Announced on May 18, 2025, the diagnosis follows medical evaluations prompted by urinary symptoms and the detection of a prostate nodule. The cancer has a Gleason score of 9, indicating a highly aggressive tumor.

While the cancer is incurable due to metastasis, it is hormone-sensitive and can be managed with hormone therapy and other treatments. Biden, who left office in January 2025, is currently reviewing treatment options with his healthcare team. The news has prompted an outpouring of support from national and international leaders.
